Week One!
This week was a great start to the month and to my Independent Study! I really dove into the history behind photojournalism as a I read A Brief History of Photography and Photojournalism By Ross Collins. I learned all about the influence of chemistry on photography progression and who made this progression so influential in society. I haven’t even made a dent in this complex history, so I am excited to grow that knowledge this month! My favorite part of the week was definitely Friday because I got to take pictures for the Girls Varsity Basketball team at their game against Jordan High School. It is always so fun to pick up my camera but being able to capture life at DA makes it even more interesting. I focused on showing a specific story in my photos this week, specifically the hard work this team has put into the season and their chemistry together. I hope to get some feedback soon so I can continue to grow my skills, but that will just have to wait for the next week of my fascinating studies!
Hi Maggie. It’s great to see your blog so carefully set up and your first post made. Do you plan to share any photos (such as those of the basketball game) here, or is that something that has to wait?
